BeamNG Mod Manager 🧡 v0.5.9: Honest space‑saved numbers, real folder combining & a branded installer!
A proper follow‑up to last update's Space Saved dashboard — this one makes those numbers honest and actually reclaims the space they're talking about. Plus a clearer Resolve tool and a freshly branded installer. 🎉
💾 Honest Space Saved numbers I want that "saved" number to mean something real, so I tightened up exactly what it counts. It now only tallies disk you genuinely get back: copies removed when combining your BeamNG and BeamMP folders into one library, and duplicates you clean with the Resolve tool. Simply activating a mod no longer pads the number — hardlinking uses no extra disk, so calling that a "saving" was a little dishonest. Now every byte on that dashboard is the real deal.
🗂️ Importing now truly combines your folders This is the big one. When you import from your game or BeamMP folders, any .zip that's byte‑for‑byte identical to one already in your Mod Storage gets folded in instead of left behind as a redundant copy — and that reclaimed space is tallied. No more collecting "‑ Dup" copies of mods you already had. One clean library, less wasted disk.
🔍 More Clarity & True(r) counts
Bug showing mods that had the placeholder date of "Dec 31, 1969" are ignored, so mod ages actually make sense. lolol.
The Conflicts count in the sidebar, and top bar now matches the number of mods on the Conflicts page exactly — no more "why does it say 5 when I see 3?"
Rescan reports its progress more reliably, even when it's only adding new files.
✨ Polish & a new look
A clear loading spinner in the image picker while shots load.
Tidier, centered Space Saved cards and a wired‑up Wall of Supporters.
One heads‑up: This update improves how mods are read, so you'll likely see a "Needs Rescan" prompt — give it a quick rescan and everything freshens right up.
Version v0.59 is actually deprecated already. I had a big idea and decided to just build 0.60 right after finishing 0.59 but already did this write up. lolol. 😆
