BMM Changelog

v0.8.45 Aug 27, 2026
Quality-of-life polish
  • Mods that are missing a required dependency now show a small red broken-chain badge right on the card — click it to jump straight to that mod’s Dependencies. And a mod’s Dependencies section now sits near the top of its details, so you can see it without scrolling.
  • The toolbar now has a Deactivate button alongside Activate and Delete whenever you have mods selected.
  • “My Server” mode is now themed green throughout, so it’s obvious at a glance when you’re managing your own server’s mods rather than your BeamNG set.
v0.8.44 Aug 27, 2026
Small fixes
  • Deleting mods is a little safer. If you had mods selected and then opened the Dependencies page — which shows a list rather than your mod cards — the Delete key and the bulk buttons could still act on mods that weren’t on screen. Those actions are now hidden on that page, and your selection is kept intact for when you go back to a normal view.
  • If you manage mods for your own multiplayer server (the “My Server” view) and update a mod your server was serving, the update message now reminds you the server is still handing out the previous version until you re-activate it there — so what your server serves and what your library shows don’t quietly drift apart.

v0.8.43 Aug 27, 2026
Dependencies filled in
  • Some mods don’t clearly say which other mods they need — the requirement is buried in the description, or just not written down. BMM can now fill those gaps from a small curated list, so a required mod the description didn’t spell out still gets flagged on the Dependencies page, in the mod’s details, and in the before-launch check. Anything that doesn’t apply to your setup is still one click to dismiss, exactly like before.
  • This works quietly in the background and needs no action from you: the list is maintained centrally and picked up automatically, so coverage can improve over time without waiting for an app update.
v0.8.42 Aug 27, 2026
Dependencies you can correct
  • You can now dismiss a dependency warning that doesn’t apply to you. A mod’s required-mod info only exists as free-form text in its description, so BMM can occasionally read a requirement that isn’t really one — now, if that happens, click “Not a requirement” on the Dependencies page and the warning clears from the Dependencies badge, the page, and the before-launch check all at once. Changed your mind? Open the mod’s details and choose “Re-include”. Your dismissals survive a rescan and are saved in your backups.
  • When a required mod is one you already own in more than one version, BMM now offers to activate the same build the rest of the app already treats as the newest — so the Dependencies page, your load-outs, and the version stacks all agree on which copy is current instead of occasionally disagreeing.
v0.8.41 Aug 27, 2026
Faster under load
  • Deleting a lot of mods at once is much faster now. BMM does the whole batch in a single pass — one save and one refresh at the end — instead of a slow separate round-trip per mod, so a big cleanup finishes quickly. Everything else is unchanged: deleted files still go to the Recycle Bin, and BMM still asks you to close BeamNG first before removing mods that are active in-game.
  • The app stays more responsive while it’s busy. During bulk actions it no longer re-scans your game and BeamMP install folders on every tiny internal update — it briefly reuses a fresh result for a fraction of a second — while still re-checking immediately when you click “Check for game” or change a folder, so nothing you do goes unnoticed.
  • Under-the-hood tidying from the audit: several duplicated pieces of code were merged into one shared version, trimming the app a little, with no change to how anything looks or behaves.
v0.8.40 Aug 26, 2026
Patreon connection, tidied
  • If BMM ever can’t read your saved Patreon credentials, the buttons on that screen now match the situation. A free account in that state can finally disconnect from right there, and a premium account is offered Reconnect — the only action that can actually fix it — instead of a “Re-check” that could only fail again.
  • A safety belt on the load-out downgrade screen: if it is ever reached while your membership is still active, BMM now refuses to lock your load-outs rather than acting on a stale snapshot. You should never see that screen while entitled anyway — this just makes sure a paid account’s load-outs can’t be locked by mistake.
  • Under the hood (from the same audit as 0.8.38–0.8.39): new regression checks lock down the entitlement-refresh and downgrade logic — including a guard that an invalid sign-in token can never unlock premium, and the subtle dismissal behaviour of the downgrade screen — so a future change can’t quietly break them.
v0.8.39 Aug 26, 2026
Live Dashboard, hardened
  • A rare startup hiccup can no longer wipe your lifetime driving stats. Before: if BMM hit a disk error at exactly the wrong moment while recovering from an unclean shutdown, it could quietly save an empty history over your real totals. Now: when that read goes wrong, BMM refuses to write anything for the session and says "couldn’t read" instead of showing a zero grid — your numbers on disk stay untouched.
  • The relay’s self-loop guard now checks where a forward target actually points, not just how it is spelled. A hostname that quietly resolves to your own machine (a hosts-file alias, for example) used to slip past the loopback check and feed BMM’s packets straight back into its own socket; it is now refused with the same clear message as a literal 127.0.0.1, and the refusal shows up in the setup card like any other.
  • Re-running one-click setup after changing BMM’s listen port no longer mistakes BMM’s own previous setting for your dashboard app. Before: the old port it had written into BeamNG’s config got "captured" as if it were a SimHub-style program worth forwarding to, so every packet went to a dead port. Now BMM remembers which ports it wrote and skips them with an honest note; a real dashboard app on any other port is still picked up exactly as before.
  • The setup card tells you more when things go quiet: a new hint appears when forward sends to your dashboard app are failing (for instance, it is not running), and another when malformed packets arrive on a listen port — usually a sign two programs are aimed at the same one.
  • Driving-stat "bests" got honest: creeping along for minutes and then accelerating no longer records a bogus multi-minute 0–60 or quarter-mile — a run now expires two minutes after it arms, so only real standing starts count.
  • Less busywork under the hood: the 20 Hz live-gauge stream now only runs while something is actually showing it (it used to broadcast all session for every Player+ user with the game running), and the "Clear BeamMP Mods Folder" info dialog no longer creates the cache folder just by looking at it.
  • From the same audit as 0.8.38: several smaller correctness fixes on this surface — driving sessions finished while the stats file was still loading at startup no longer overwrite each other, a settings race during one-click setup is closed, and the two shutdown paths now share one teardown — plus 63 new regression checks pinning all of the above.
v0.8.38 Aug 26, 2026
My Server, kept honest
  • Moving or clearing your My Server folder no longer strands mods in limbo. Before: after pointing BMM at a different server folder, "Activate" would claim success while putting nothing in the new folder, and with the folder cleared a server mod could not be switched off at all. Now: activating genuinely links into the folder you chose (the copy in the old folder is left alone, in case that server is still running), switching off works whether or not a folder is set, and a rescan flags mods still pointing at the old folder so you can see what needs re-activating.
  • The two "Open Folder" buttons for the My Server folder in Settings now actually open it — they previously did nothing at all.
  • Automatic duplicate tidying now leaves a mod alone when it is the copy your server is serving. Previously, folding two identical copies could retire the very file your server hands to joiners; that copy now stays put and the pair is left in the Duplicates view for you to resolve by hand.
  • Picking a Mod Storage folder that sits inside (or contains) your My Server folder now gets the same warning the reverse direction always had.
  • Prepping the same BeamMP server twice in a row no longer re-reports work it did not do — mods already in place count toward "ready" instead of being announced as newly activated every time.
  • Rebuild Mod Database now sends BeamNG’s db.json to the Recycle Bin instead of deleting it outright, and tells you honestly when the file could not be removed instead of claiming there was nothing to clear.
  • Under the hood, from our biggest code audit yet: a stuck-forever edge in mod-update downloads closed, quitting made more robust while stats are being saved, and a documentation pass so the code and its safety rules tell the same story.
v0.8.37 Aug 25, 2026
A tidier pre-launch dependency check
  • The "Missing dependencies" window that can appear when you press Launch has been widened so everything fits: the "Open official page" button no longer spills past its row, long mod names are shortened with an ellipsis instead of pushing things around (hover to read the full name), and the stray sideways scrollbar — and the odd white square in its corner — are gone.
v0.8.36 Aug 24, 2026
The mods your mods need, and a Servers page that remembers
  • New (Player+): BMM now notices when an active mod needs another mod to work. Plenty of mods say so only in their description — "requires the such-and-such pack" with a link — and it is easy to miss, so the mod simply misbehaves in game. A new Dependencies row in the sidebar counts the active mods whose stated requirements are not active, and its page lists each one with what is missing and where that stands: sitting in your library but switched off, or not in your library at all. Mod details gained the fuller picture: a "Dependencies" section listing every requirement with its status — including the ones already active — and a separate "Mentioned mods" list for the other mods a description merely points at, recommendations rather than requirements.
  • Fixing what it finds is one click. On the Dependencies page, "Activate All Required" switches on every requirement you already own; in a mod’s details each requirement gets its own Activate button; and a new check appears when you press Launch, listing what is missing before BeamNG starts and offering "Activate & Launch", launch anyway, or go back. Requirements you do not own yet are named and linked to their official page — BMM never downloads anything on its own. Not subscribed? The Dependencies row still shows you the count, and the page and the mod-details sections show you the shape of the answer behind a lock, so you can see exactly what you would be getting.
  • Worth knowing about the detection: it reads the words mod authors write, so it is a helpful hint rather than a guarantee. BMM deliberately errs towards saying too little — a mod only counts as a requirement when the description actually asks for it, and anything less certain is listed as a mention instead of a warning. Nothing is ever activated, downloaded or changed without you clicking.
  • The Servers page now remembers what you were doing. Your search, every filter, the column you sorted by and the server you had open all survive leaving the page and coming back, until you close BMM. Nothing about this is saved to disk.
  • With "Only servers I have every mod for" ticked, servers that need no mods at all no longer crowd out the ones you are actually ready for: servers you have mods for are listed first. Sorting a column yourself still wins over this.
  • The update icon has been redrawn — a download arrow dropping into a tray — so the sidebar Updates row, the update badge on a mod card and the top-bar update pill all read at a glance. Hover the Updates row and the arrow animates.
v0.8.35 Aug 20, 2026
Updates that can only move forward, and a home for your own server
  • Fixed a rare case where "Check for Updates" could offer — and download — an OLDER build of a mod than the one you already had. Three independent guards now stand between a mod and a downgrade: BMM compares the two versions before it will call anything an update, it checks again at the moment you click, and it refuses outright to replace a newer build with an older one. If a mod of yours was downgraded this way, run "Check for Updates" once — it now recognises the situation and corrects itself.
  • Imported mods with a clashing name are named more sensibly. When a mod you import shares its file name with one already in your library but is a different file, the newcomer no longer lands as "… - IMPORTED DUPLICATE": it takes the mod’s own version number where BMM can read one, and a plain "(2)" counter where it cannot. Files still carrying the old suffix are renamed to the new scheme automatically, once. This is a file name change only — your load-outs, tags, favourites and covers are untouched.
  • New, free for everyone: My Server. If you run a BeamMP server on this PC, BMM can now look after its mod folder the same way it looks after the game’s. Point BMM at the folder once, then use the new BeamNG / My Server switch at the top to choose which one you are activating mods into. BMM only ever touches the folder you pointed it at.
  • The Live Driving Stats page can now be laid out the way you want it: drag the cards into a different order and hide the ones you never look at. Hidden cards stay visible — dimmed, in place — while you are editing, so bringing one back is a single click rather than a full reset. You can also choose which gauges and readouts show on the Live Dashboard itself: speed, tacho, pedals, each vital, the G-circle, drift and attitude gauges, the warning lights and the altitude row. Reset layout puts everything back to standard.
  • Receiving data from another app now works properly. The two ports BMM listens on can be changed in Settings instead of being fixed, and there is a short guide for the arrangement where BeamNG feeds SimHub and SimHub passes the data on to BMM — useful if you would rather leave your existing dashboard tool in charge of the game’s settings.
  • The two connection dots on the Live Dashboard are now labelled OG and MS, so it is obvious which feed each one is reporting on — OutGauge for the gauges, MotionSim for the roll and pitch.
  • Mod details now shows the date a mod was added to your library, and that date also appears on the Resolve cards when you are deciding which copy to keep.
v0.8.34 Aug 14, 2026
A Live Dashboard for driving, and stats to go with it
  • New: a Live Dashboard (Player+) with real-time gauges — speed, a tach with a shift light, gear, pedals, engine and oil temps, fuel, boost, a G-force friction circle, drift angle with a DRIFTING indicator, aircraft-style roll and pitch gauges, dash warning lights, and altitude — all updating live as you drive. It is fed by BeamNG’s own data feeds and is built with a second monitor in mind.
  • New, free for everyone: This Session and Lifetime Driving Stats — distance, top speed, 0-60/0-100/quarter-mile bests, drift stats, detected crash/rollover/spin counts, per-gear stats and more, all accumulated locally as you play. Worth knowing: BeamNG doesn’t report oil pressure, so that gauge and stat are the one exception; crash, rollover and spin counts are BMM’s own detected estimates, not numbers the game reports directly.
  • Setting it up is one click: with your permission, BMM edits BeamNG’s own settings file to turn on the two feeds the dashboard needs (a timestamped backup of that file is kept in BMM’s data folder first). If you already use another dashboard tool such as SimHub, BMM passes the data through to it while BMM is running, so that keeps working too — but BeamNG is now pointed at BMM, not your dashboard tool directly, so if BMM isn’t running your dashboard tool won’t receive anything until you reopen BMM. Manual setup instructions are included for anyone who’d rather do it themselves.
  • All of this driving data — live and historical — stays on your PC. It is never sent anywhere.
  • The Stats page gets a metric/imperial toggle for the whole page, and can now auto-open when BeamNG launches (on by default; turn it off in Settings).
  • New tray icon: closing BMM’s window can now minimize it to the tray instead of quitting, so the dashboard and the game-close import keep working in the background. You choose on the first close, and can change your mind any time in Settings.
  • The Server Browser’s columns can now be sorted by clicking their headers.
  • For the technically curious: the game-settings edit is new and only ever happens with your consent; the existing "won’t check for mod updates while BeamNG is running" behaviour is unchanged.
v0.8.33 Aug 13, 2026
Paying members are no longer punished for a broken connection
  • If BMM can no longer verify your Patreon connection — which is usually BMM’s own fault, not yours — it no longer strips your premium features and throws the "choose load-outs to keep" screen at you. Your benefits now keep working for up to 14 days while a "Reconnect Patreon" pill in the top bar and a note in the Membership window ask you to re-link, with the exact date your premium would pause if you don’t. One click reconnects; a real change in your membership is still detected honestly.
  • The "choose load-outs to keep" screen itself is friendlier: it now has a Reconnect Patreon button right there (reconnecting unlocks everything again instantly), and it can be closed with Esc or the X to decide later — nothing is locked until you choose, and it simply asks again next launch. It also no longer flashes up during launch in the brief moment before BMM has finished re-checking your membership.
  • The Membership window now tells the truth in every state: if your saved connection has died it says so and offers Reconnect instead of a "Re-check" that could only fail again, and a Disconnect option is always available.
  • For the technically curious: the fix distinguishes "your saved sign-in token no longer works" (an authentication problem, often caused by a lost token rotation on BMM’s side) from "your membership ended" (a real answer from Patreon). Only the second one changes your tier. Nothing about this weakens the checks — a lapsed membership still downgrades exactly as before, and the preserved access is strictly bounded by the existing 14-day window.
v0.8.32 Aug 7, 2026
Lifetime driving stats, and safer handling of unusual zips
  • A new Lifetime Stats page shows how far you have actually driven in BeamNG — total distance, your most-driven vehicles, and time spent per game mode and per map. These are BeamNG’s own numbers: the game has been keeping them all along, in a file on your PC, so your whole history is there the first time you open the page. BMM only reads that file — it never changes it, and nothing on the page ever leaves your machine. Free on every tier. Distances can be shown in kilometres or miles, and your choice is remembered.
  • If BMM cannot find or make sense of that file, the page says exactly that and shows nothing instead of guessing — a blank number is never filled in with a zero.
  • The load-out name in the editor now shows the same little pencil the mod name got last update, so it is obvious the name can be edited. Clicking it puts the cursor in the name; as before, the new name is saved when you press "Save loadout", not before.
  • Under the hood, BMM is now much harder to upset with a malformed or deliberately hostile zip file. Every piece of information BMM reads out of a zip — names, icons, preview images, backup contents — is now read with a hard size limit that is enforced as the data arrives, rather than trusting what the zip claims about itself. A zip that lies about its own size can no longer make BMM read far more than it should.
  • One consequence worth knowing, because it is visible: very large mods — over about 4 GB — are now listed under their file name without a preview image or details. That size of mod uses a zip format BMM cannot safely tell apart from a hostile file, so it errs on the side of not reading it. Nothing is lost, deleted or broken, and the mod still activates and works normally; it just looks plain in your library. If a big map of yours suddenly looks bare, this is why.
  • Mod downloads now check each step when the BeamNG site forwards them somewhere else, so a download can only ever follow a secure link that came from beamng.com itself.
v0.8.31 Aug 7, 2026
Cover images for load-outs, and smarter version suggestions
  • Load-outs can now have a custom cover image. Pick any picture from your computer on the Load-outs page — the same way you already set a custom cover on a mod — and "Reset To Default" takes it back to the standard look. Covers travel with your own backups, but are deliberately left out of a shared load-out file: they are your local display choice, not part of the load-out itself.
  • The mod name in the details panel now shows a little pencil beside it. The name has always been editable — click it and type — but nothing said so; the pencil makes it visible, and clicking it puts you straight into renaming.
  • A "Clear BeamMP Mods Folder" button in Settings empties the BeamMP mods folder in one go, after showing you exactly which folder, how many files and how much space. Everything goes to the Recycle Bin — nothing is deleted outright — and BeamMP re-downloads whatever a server needs the next time you join. Servers you had prepped will need prepping again.
  • Smarter duplicate suggestions: BMM now also reads how recently the files inside each zip were changed. A newer build imported without version info used to be the one suggested for deletion in favour of the older copy; the file dates now break that tie the right way round. This only changes which copy BMM suggests keeping — nothing is deleted automatically. To gather the dates, BMM re-scans your whole library once after this update — at the next launch, or on your next "Rescan library" click if you’ve turned launch re-scans off — which can take a little while on a large library.
  • The "Multiple versions" section of the Duplicates page now has the same Resolve flow as duplicates: open a version stack, compare version, update date, size, rating and when you added each build side by side, see when a build is part of a load-out before you delete it, and keep the one you want — with BMM explaining why it suggests the one it does.
  • The Disk Space Saved total can now be reset from its dashboard, if you want to start the count fresh. Resetting clears the running tally and nothing else — it does not delete, move or change any files.
v0.8.30 Aug 7, 2026
Always On that snaps back, and quiet tightening under the hood
  • Always On load-outs now switch their mods back on the moment your Patreon subscription is confirmed, instead of waiting for an unrelated action like a rescan or an import. Before this, resubscribing could show a load-out as enforced while nothing had actually been switched on. Worth knowing: BMM quietly re-confirms your subscription about twice a day, and that re-check now also re-applies Always On — so a mod you switched off by hand can come back on at that moment, the same way it already does after a launch, rescan or import.
  • Clicking "Connect with Patreon" again while a sign-in is already under way now joins the one in progress instead of opening another browser tab and another listener each time. If you lose the browser tab, the second click simply picks up the same sign-in.
  • Internal tightening of how the app’s two halves talk to each other: the settings channel now accepts only the fixed list of settings BMM’s own interface actually sends, and the "open folder" action will only ever open a folder. No visible change — the app’s interface runs sandboxed and none of this was reachable from outside; it is a second line of defence, not a fix for a live problem.
  • Installed builds now always talk to BMM’s own licensing server. A developer environment override that could re-point that address still works while developing, but is ignored once the app is installed.
  • Updated a bundled library (js-yaml) that the auto-updater uses to read its update feed. The flaw it fixes could only make an update check spin the CPU, and only if the download host itself were compromised or the connection intercepted — routine hygiene, not something users were exposed to.
v0.8.29 Aug 7, 2026
Server preps that survive updates and tidy-ups
  • "Update Mod" and "Update All" no longer touch your BeamMP files. Updating a mod used to re-point its BeamMP link at the new version under a name the BeamMP launcher never looks for — quietly breaking the server prep it belonged to and leaving a stray file in the launcher’s cache folder with no way to clear it. The launcher’s folder now belongs to server prep alone: an update switches the active BeamNG mod only, "Updated" in the message means exactly that, and prepping a server again picks the right versions itself.
  • Automatic duplicate clean-up follows the same rule: folding identical copies together no longer re-links the kept copy into BeamMP under a name the launcher would not recognise. If a clean-up clears a prepped mod, the next prep of that server restores it correctly. Clean-up also now decides whether a fold is safe before touching anything — a fold it ends up rejecting no longer switches the mod off first.
  • After you close BeamMP, BMM no longer moves, adopts, or tidies anything inside the launcher’s cache folder — whatever it finds there is left exactly as it was. New mods there are still counted and offered ("N new BeamMP mods available"), and the import button in Settings remains the way to bring them into your library.
  • BMM now keeps an explicit record of which BeamMP files it created for a server prep, instead of inferring it from filenames. The inference was nearly always right, but a wrong guess in either direction could leave a stray file behind or remove a file the launcher owned. Existing prep links are marked once, at the first launch after updating.
  • The one-time BeamMP tidy-up from 0.8.27 is more careful: it now waits until the BeamMP launcher is closed, it completes properly even when the BeamMP mods folder can’t be found — previously it could tick mods off as cleared while leaving their files behind — and its summary message is no longer lost if a save fails partway through.
  • Prepping a server while another prep is still running is now refused with a clear message, instead of the two runs tangling with each other.
v0.8.28 Aug 6, 2026
Protecting your library from some rare but serious failures
  • BMM will now never delete a file from your Mod Storage folder while removing a mod from the game. If you had ever pointed BMM’s BeamMP folder at your Mod Storage folder — or at another name for it, such as a mapped drive — deactivating a mod could delete the library copy outright, with nothing in the Recycle Bin. BMM now recognises the original however the path is spelled and refuses to touch it, and it will warn you if you pick a BeamMP folder that overlaps your library.
  • Fixed two ways BMM could fail to start at all and stay that way. If certain entries in its internal library file were damaged — by a bad shutdown, a disk error, or hand-editing — BMM would close with an error before the window appeared, and every relaunch did the same. Reinstalling did not help, because the file survives it. BMM now repairs those entries as it loads.
  • If BMM’s settings file can’t be read at startup, your settings are reset to defaults — which used to mean automatic clean-up quietly started using the default “how many versions to keep” instead of yours, and could tidy away versions you meant to keep. Automatic clean-up now pauses instead, tells you it has paused, and resumes as soon as you confirm or change that setting.
  • Fixed a rare case during automatic duplicate clean-up where a mod’s tags, rating, notes and custom cover could be lost if you deleted mods at the same moment clean-up was running.
  • Hardened the mod-update downloader against a malformed response that could write a file outside BMM’s download folder.
v0.8.27 Aug 6, 2026
A real BeamMP server browser, and one library instead of two
  • The BeamMP Servers page has been rebuilt to work like BeamMP’s own in-game browser: categories down the side (Public, Official, Featured, Partner, Favorites, Recent, Direct Connect), a proper server table with country, map, player counts and how many of its mods you already have, and a filter panel for tags, server version, country, player count, download size and map — with the standard BeamNG maps listed first.
  • You can now favourite servers and see the ones you looked at recently. Selecting a server shows its owner, description, tags and who is playing right now, alongside the list of mods it needs and which of those you already have.
  • Direct Connect lets you paste a server address to find it and get your mods ready. To be clear about what it does: BMM finds the server in the public list and preps your mods — it cannot join for you, and if an address is not in the public list, BMM cannot see which mods it uses. Join those from BeamMP’s own list and BeamMP will download what it needs.
  • The BeamNG/BeamMP switch is gone, and so is the separate BeamMP mod view. Managing BeamMP mods by hand is no longer necessary — prepping a server does it for you — so BMM is now one library with the Servers page handling everything BeamMP.
  • Because of that, BeamMP load-outs have been removed and any mods BMM had linked into BeamMP were deactivated, once, when you updated. None of your actual mod files were touched — every one of them is still in Mod Storage, and BMM tells you exactly what it did the first time you open it.
  • "Import mods from BeamNG" is now always in the top bar; importing from BeamMP lives in Settings. A "Launch BeamMP" button sits on the Servers page for when you just want the client open.
  • Conflicts now covers both BeamNG and BeamMP instead of only whichever side you had selected, with each conflict labelled by where it applies.
v0.8.26 Aug 5, 2026
Mouse buttons that actually work, and filters you can always see
  • Mouse back/forward buttons now genuinely work. The 0.8.25 version listened for these the way Windows describes them, and on a lot of mice that signal never arrives — so for many people the feature simply did nothing. BMM now listens three ways at once, including the one your mouse actually uses, and Alt+Left / Alt+Right do the same job from the keyboard.
  • When a filter is narrowing your library, the sidebar now says so in plain words — "Clear: supported creators only", "Clear: search …" — and one click clears the lot. It used to appear only while the sidebar was collapsed, which meant a filter you had switched on by accident could quietly cut your library down to a fraction of itself with nothing on screen to explain it.
  • That row now also covers the author filter and the search box, not just categories, tags and creators, so anything narrowing what you see is named in one place.
  • "Supported Creators Only" now uses the Patreon mark you already see on mod cards, lit in Patreon orange when it is on — much easier to spot at a glance. It still matches creators on Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, Gumroad and Boosty too, not just Patreon.
  • That button also stays visible when the sidebar is collapsed. Previously it vanished unless it was already switched on, which made it the easiest filter to leave on by accident and the hardest to find again.
  • Load-out names that start with an emoji now show that emoji in the collapsed sidebar instead of a letter — far easier to pick out at a glance.
  • The sidebar collapse control is now a tab on the sidebar edge, halfway down the window, matching the one on the mod details panel — so it no longer takes up room inside the sidebar itself. Both arrows are properly centred now, which the details panel one quietly never was.
  • When an update button is greyed out, BMM now says why on screen instead of hiding the reason in a tooltip you had to hover to find.
v0.8.25 Aug 4, 2026
A sidebar that can shrink, and back/forward with your mouse
  • The sidebar can now be collapsed to a slim icon strip, using the arrow at its top — handy on smaller windows. Your library sections, load-outs, the Load-outs page and the Servers page all stay one click away. The filter chips and library stats are hidden while it is narrow, but any filter you had switched on stays switched on — so if one is, the strip shows a "Clear filters" row (hover it to see which filters are active), and one click clears it.
  • Mouse back/forward buttons now work in BMM, the same way they do in a web browser — they step between pages, scopes, and views you have visited, and bring your search and filters back with them.
  • Starting a mod update — either "Update Mod" or "Update All" — is now unavailable while BeamNG is open, matching "Check for updates", and the button says so when you hover it. A running BeamMP launcher blocks it too, with its own message, since BMM cannot switch a BeamMP mod over to a new version while the launcher is up.
  • The trade-off, so it is not a surprise: you can no longer start an update at all while the game is open. Before this, an update for a mod you did not have switched on downloaded into your library as normal, and an update for one you did downloaded and then waited for you to switch versions after quitting. Both now have to wait until BeamNG — and the BeamMP launcher — are closed.
  • "Update All" now stops if BeamNG or the BeamMP launcher starts up partway through a run, instead of carrying on downloading versions it will not be able to switch to. It names the program to close and still reports what it finished; run it again afterwards to pick up the rest.
v0.8.24 Aug 4, 2026
Always On tells you when it is paused
  • Always On now shows as a pin next to your load-out instead of an "On" label, so it is easy to tell apart from the green dot that means "this load-out is what is active right now".
  • If Always On is saved but not actually running — because a load-out is locked, or your plan changed — the Load-outs page now labels it "paused" instead of quietly doing nothing, and hovering the pin anywhere says why. Your setting is kept either way; nothing is ever switched off behind your back.
  • Switching Always On off now confirms it with a message, so a setting that quietly stays on until you change it no longer turns off in silence.
  • On the Conflicts page, opening a mod now shows its conflicts right at the top of the details panel, already open — no scrolling to the bottom to find them.
  • "Check for updates" is now unavailable while BeamNG is open, after a report that using it could crash the game.
v0.8.23 Aug 3, 2026
Always On that stays on, and a safer moment to switch mods
  • “Always On” load-outs now hold after you close BeamNG or BeamMP even if you’ve turned off “import mods when the game closes”. The two were tied together before, so switching the import setting off quietly switched off the close-time part of Always On as well.
  • The “Always On” marker now appears only where it is actually being applied. A locked load-out, or one on a plan without Always On, no longer shows the marker or the lit-up button as though its mods were being kept active.
  • While BMM is switching a set of mods on, it now re-checks whether the game has started up again — and stops if it has, instead of carrying on writing into a running game’s folder. This matters most right after you quit and immediately relaunch.
  • If BMM ever has to rebuild your library after its catalog file is damaged, it now leaves your load-outs’ versions alone for that session rather than moving members onto the newest build — the rebuild has already lost your version pins, so it can no longer tell which ones you chose. Clicking “Update Mod” still moves that load-out to the new version, as you’d expect.
  • Sign-in hardening on the licensing server (already live — no update needed for this part): the Patreon connect flow can no longer be started by a link on another website, and a connect link now expires after ten minutes instead of staying valid indefinitely.
v0.8.22 Aug 2, 2026
Load-outs that stay on, windows that hold their size
  • “Always On” load-outs: mark any load-out “Always On” from the Load-outs page and BMM keeps its mods active no matter what else happens — switching to a different load-out, closing BeamNG or BeamMP, or relaunching BMM all leave an Always On load-out’s mods right where they are. Player members and up.
  • Turning off one of those mods by hand is only temporary — it switches back on the next time BMM re-scans your library, imports mods, applies a load-out, or launches, so an Always On load-out can’t quietly end up with mods missing.
  • Fixed a window-shrink bug: a maximized BMM window could get stuck small after a display or resolution change — unplugging a monitor or switching between 4K and 1080p, for example — instead of filling the new screen size.
v0.8.21 Aug 1, 2026
Messages that say more, a panel that says less
  • Notifications say more now. A mod update shows the version it came from and moved to (like “from v1.1 → v1.4”); removing a mod shows its version; adding or importing a single mod reads “Added … Mod”, which reads better for short names; and load-out messages name both the mod and the load-out that changed.
  • The notifications panel is quieter. Everyday messages — activating or deactivating mods, “Loadout updated”, “Image updated”, “Launching…” — still appear as pop-up toasts but no longer fill the panel’s history, so the longer messages worth catching are easy to find. A partial result, like “3 of 5 mods activated”, still stays in the panel.
  • Checking for updates no longer looks frozen — the top bar now shows a moving progress strip and a spinning icon while it works.
  • A new “Recently Active” sort puts the mods you’ve used most recently at the top; scroll to the end to find the ones you rarely touch.
  • A “Disk Space Savings” button in Settings opens the full savings breakdown — handy when the window is too narrow to show the savings chip in the top bar.
  • Settings tidy-up: the “About” heading is gone — your app name and logo now sit directly under the divider — and the logo is a little larger.
  • A damaged or unreadable mod zip now stays counted under “Needs Rescan” (or in the Broken list) until you replace it, and the re-scan reminder no longer implies every listed mod can be fixed by re-scanning.
v0.8.20 Jul 31, 2026
Quieter failures that finally speak up
  • If BMM ever can’t confirm your Patreon membership for a while, it now tells you before your premium features lapse — a small badge in the top bar and an honest line in the Membership window, with the date your offline grace runs to. Premium keeps working the whole time and the date moves out again the moment a check succeeds. And if Windows can’t read your saved Patreon login, BMM now says “reconnect to keep premium” instead of claiming everything auto-renews.
  • The portable version stops claiming “you’re on the latest version” after an update check that didn’t actually complete. A check that couldn’t reach the update feed now reads as “couldn’t check”, not as confirmation you’re up to date.
  • Damaged or unreadable mod zips are handled honestly. A zip that can’t be read during a re-scan is now kept exactly as it was — previously it could be quietly overwritten with a title-only stub, losing its update tracking and duplicate grouping — and it shows up under “Needs Rescan” (or in the Broken list if it’s empty) with a “Could not re-scan” note, instead of silently passing as scanned. It’s also retried cheaply now rather than re-read in full on every launch.
  • Automatic import on game close is safer: a momentary hiccup in BMM’s “is the game running?” check no longer looks like the game closing, so it can’t move files while BeamNG or BeamMP is still open.
  • A few tidy-up messages got more accurate: a version quarantined for clean-up keeps its Undo even when the clean-up log is busy, and BMM no longer briefly reports one of its own just-moved files as “missing” during startup.
  • Under the hood: a paying member can no longer be dropped to free by a momentary Patreon data hiccup or a server-side misconfiguration — those now keep your offline grace instead of downgrading instantly. Plus a large batch of new automated safety checks across duplicate handling, the update flow, process detection, and the app’s security boundaries.
v0.8.19 Jul 31, 2026
Clean-ups that tell you, counts that add up
  • Automatic clean-up is no longer silent at startup. When BMM folds duplicate copies or moves older versions to the clean-up log while starting — including during the re-scan that runs at launch — you now get a notice once the window opens, with the details (and the 7-day undo for quarantined versions) in Settings → Cleanup log. Previously that work happened before the window existed, so the notice was never shown.
  • The Settings “Import mods from BeamNG/BeamMP” buttons now report everything the import actually did: copies folded, older versions tidied, links repaired, and skips broken down by reason — a locked or unreadable file no longer reads as “already in your library”. A BeamMP folder full of the launcher’s own cache copies gets an honest “already in your library (the launcher’s cache copy was left in place)” line instead of the old false “No mods found”.
  • Load-out messages now report what actually changed. “Added 10” for ten mods that were already in the load-out is gone — you’ll see the real applied counts, “No changes were needed” when nothing changed, and a clear note if your library looked empty so nothing was touched.
  • Sidebar counts follow your search box and author filter, so a row’s number finally matches the page you land on. While you type a search, category and tag chips with no matching mods step aside (any chip you’ve armed stays visible).
  • The Resolve screen no longer mistakes a creator’s dated release (like a file ending in “-20250114”) for a renamed duplicate — a mix-up that could recommend deleting the newer build with a false explanation beside the button. Badges there now claim only what was actually checked.
  • Two rare ways a restored custom cover could silently vanish are closed — a Windows file-naming edge case in the backup holding area, and its sibling in the image cache.
  • A round of smaller honesty fixes: “Not a Duplicate” messages say what really happens (mods leave the problem lists; settled version sets can still appear under “Multiple versions”); mods removed by an automatic tidy-up no longer linger in your selection or produce “Mod not found” errors; the close buttons in the image viewer and supporter wall no longer drag the window; and the telemetry consent text now lists everything an opt-in launch ping sends (app version, OS version, display language).
  • Under the hood: the update-check server now rejects far-future dates the same way the app has since 0.8.18, so a garbage date on a repository page can no longer produce a phantom “update available”; and this release adds two new regression-gate suites plus dozens of new checks across the existing ones.
v0.8.18 Jul 30, 2026
Load-outs that don’t forget, creator links that stay put
  • Load-outs no longer lose mods that could come back. If you opened a load-out while BMM was still building your library — the first launch after an update, or during a re-scan — it could permanently drop members. The mod files were never deleted, but the load-out’s record of them was, so re-importing wouldn’t restore them. Now a member is only removed when BMM genuinely has no way to recognise it again; anything restorable is kept, and re-importing the mod puts it straight back.
  • “Support the creator” links can no longer vanish. If BMM’s curated creator list was briefly unreadable — a bad update on our side, or a network hiccup — every user’s saved links were overwritten with an empty list and the buttons disappeared until the next healthy start. BMM now keeps the links it already has whenever the list can’t be read, and clears them only when it’s genuinely meant to be empty.
  • Imports are more careful about replaced files. If you’d swapped a mod’s zip in Mod Storage by hand for a different build, importing that mod again could recycle the new file as a “duplicate” of bytes that were no longer there. BMM now confirms the stored file still matches before folding anything away. One visible consequence: in that situation the import leaves the file as a separate copy (or skips it) instead of quietly merging it — deliberate, and it shows up on the Duplicates page for you to resolve.
  • BMM 0.7.3 and older can no longer connect to Patreon. The old sign-in path those builds used has been removed, because a web page you never opened could trigger it. Those versions now say so immediately instead of waiting five minutes and timing out. If you’re on 0.7.3 or older, update first and then connect.
  • Under the hood: a far-future date on a mod can no longer make BMM treat the wrong build as the newest one (which decides what automatic clean-up trims); the clean-up log now pauses automatic trimming when its file is damaged, not only when it’s fully unreadable; and several release checks were tightened so the values behind download pacing, duplicate-detection proof, and the free load-out limit can’t be weakened without a test failing.
v0.8.17 Jul 30, 2026
Creators can claim their mods, plus a notifications panel
  • Mod creators can now claim their work — including mods that were never uploaded to the official repository. Drop a tiny bmm.json file into your mod’s zip with a support link (Patreon, Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, Gumroad, or Boosty), and BMM shows your “Support the creator” button to everyone who installs a build that carries the file. You can add your BeamNG user id too — on its own it lights up your button only once BMM’s curated creator listings include you. The exact template to paste is at beammodmanager.xyz/creators. Links only ever open on those five platforms, and on repository mods BMM’s curated listings outrank the file — nothing inside a zip can override the creator BMM already knows.
  • New notifications panel: the bell in the top bar keeps the last 50 messages BMM showed you — imports, updates, tidy-ups — so a toast that slid away isn’t gone. Repeats collapse into one line with a counter, a dot on the bell marks unread news, and Clear empties the list.
  • Your library will run one more full re-scan after this update — the second in a row, sorry: 0.8.16 shrank cover images, this one reads creator markers. It happens automatically at the next launch (or on your next “Rescan library” click if you’ve turned launch re-scans off) and preserves your tags, favorites, notes, and custom covers as always.
  • If BeamNG Mod Manager ever fails to start, it now tells you so in an error window and exits, instead of leaving an invisible stuck process that only Task Manager could end. And if startup ever genuinely hangs, double-clicking the icon again now says so instead of silently doing nothing.
  • Under the hood: the shutdown diagnostic log now survives into the next session (quit-trace.prev.log), so a forced-exit event can actually be investigated afterwards instead of being erased at the next launch.
v0.8.16 Jul 29, 2026
A much smaller image cache, steadier controls
  • Mod cover images now take a fraction of the disk space. BMM used to store each mod’s preview image exactly as it came out of the zip — sometimes 10 MB for a single cover. New covers are saved as compact copies that look the same on the cards, and your existing covers are converted automatically during the next library re-scan. Covers you picked by hand are left exactly as they are.
  • BMM also tidies leftover cover images that no longer belong to any mod in your library — they used to sit in the cache forever after rebuilds and re-imports. Covers belonging to versions in the clean-up log’s undo window are kept.
  • The “versions to keep” slider now applies when you let go of it, not on every notch it passes — dragging past a lower number and correcting no longer trims older versions you never meant to trim.
  • Dropping mod zips onto the window now waits its turn: while a dialog is open or a library scan is running, BMM tells you instead of importing behind the dialog. Dropping mods during first-time setup still works.
  • Under the hood: the release checks now run the licensing server’s full test suite too, so a server regression can’t slip past the app’s own gates.
v0.8.15 Jul 29, 2026
Pack-safe pinning, protected data files
  • Pinning a version is now safe for multi-part packs. Packs that ship several parts under one repository page could have one part silently removed or swapped in a load-out when you pinned another part — pinning now only ever touches the part you actually picked.
  • More data files are protected against corruption: if your mod list, load-outs, clean-up log, or held restore data is found full of unusable entries, BMM keeps a backup of the file and pauses automatic clean-up instead of quietly starting fresh. Previously only a fully unreadable file got that protection.
  • The “versions to keep” slider now tells you when automatic clean-up is paused for the session, so lowering it doesn’t look like it did nothing.
  • Restoring a backup now says exactly how many custom mod images will be applied now, how many apply later when their mods are added, and how many are kept as-is because you already set a cover on this PC — and the completion message reports what really happened.
  • Marking several mods as “Not a Duplicate” or ignoring several updates now reports what actually happened (“3 of 5”) instead of always claiming the full count.
  • Re-clicking a pin on an already-pinned version no longer needlessly rewrites your load-outs or resets an open editor.
  • Under the hood: updated the library that reads mod zips — the new version outright rejects certain malformed zips instead of accepting mismatched data. Your duplicate detection is unaffected; we verified the content fingerprints byte-for-byte.
v0.8.14 Jul 28, 2026
Clearer choices, honest messages
  • “Keep Only This” in the Resolve Duplicates window now asks you to confirm first — it deletes every other copy in the group, so it shouldn’t happen on a single click. Deleting one copy at a time is unchanged.
  • That window can also no longer be clicked twice into deleting a whole group: its buttons lock while a delete is running.
  • The “Keep” badge now says what actually decided the suggestion — newest, best rated, largest, or original file name — and only claims it when no other copy in the group beats it. When nothing separates the copies it simply says “Keep this” rather than giving a reason that isn’t true.
  • Activating or deactivating several mods at once now reports what really happened: “Activated 3 of 5 mods” instead of claiming all five. “Deactivate All” no longer hides per-mod failures behind a green message.
  • Importing now stops if BeamNG or the BeamMP launcher starts while it’s running. Anything not yet imported is left exactly where it is, and BMM tells you which program interrupted it.
  • When startup moves a load-out onto a newer version you already have, BMM now says so instead of doing it silently — and points you at how to hold a load-out on an older build.
  • Settings now describes automatic import accurately. Mods are pulled in from BeamNG’s folder, but mods the BeamMP launcher downloaded are left exactly where they are — moving them would make BeamMP download them all over again — so BMM only lets you know they’re there.
  • The restore window no longer claims your “newer” local data wins. Restoring keeps what’s already on this PC as-is and only fills in fields that are empty; tags from both sides are combined.
  • A load-out that fails to delete now tells you, instead of closing the window as if it worked.
  • Security: updated the underlying app framework, which carries Chromium security fixes.
v0.8.13 Jul 28, 2026
Safety fixes for automatic duplicate cleanup
  • Fixed a rare but serious case where automatic duplicate cleanup could recycle the copy it meant to keep. If your Mod Storage folder was reachable by two different paths — a mapped network drive, a substituted drive letter, or a folder shortcut — BMM could list the same file twice and then remove it. It now recognizes that both entries are one file and leaves it alone.
  • Automatic cleanup now also re-checks the file on disk before removing anything, so a mod you replaced by hand outside BMM can no longer be mistaken for a duplicate.
  • Load-outs that follow the newest version now stay within the right mod. Packs that ship several parts under one repository page could previously have one part replaced by another; each part now follows only its own newer builds.
  • If your library list can’t be read at startup, BMM now tells you, keeps a backup of the old file, and pauses automatic duplicate cleanup of your library for that session instead of quietly cleaning up against settings it can no longer see.
  • Clearer message when saved Patreon credentials can’t be read on this PC — BMM now says to reconnect instead of reporting that you were never connected.
v0.8.12 Jul 27, 2026
See your versions everywhere
  • Load-out lists now show each mod’s version — in the “Loadout details” list, the load-out editor, and on the tiles of the expanded view, where a new “Detailed” toggle (on by default) also adds the author.
  • Mod cards and the mod details pane now use the same version label as everywhere else — repository mods that only carried a repository version string finally show it, and stray double-“v” labels are gone.
  • The Duplicates page has a new “Multiple versions” section showing the version sets you’re deliberately keeping — the build you have active on the card (the newest if none is active), older builds behind its version chip, with switch and delete right there. These aren’t problems, so they don’t count toward the sidebar badge.
  • The “Versions to keep per mod” slider now also lives on that section, and the page reacts immediately when you move it.
  • Honest wording: places that said “byte-identical” or “byte-for-byte” now describe what BMM actually verifies — identical content.
v0.8.11 Jul 24, 2026
Support creators on Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, Gumroad, and Boosty
  • The “Support the creator” link now works for five platforms — Patreon, Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, Gumroad, and Boosty — each with its own icon and color. Links from a mod’s own description light up automatically; no rescan needed.
  • The sidebar filter is now “Supported Creators Only” and covers every platform, not just Patreon.
  • A narrower window keeps more of the top bar: the launch button sheds the word “Launch” (keeping the play icon and game name) only when the window gets narrow, and the search box hands back its spare width while it’s empty — so the disk-space savings chip (and the update pill, when there is one) stay visible at sizes where they used to disappear.
  • Removed the old “Unlock Loadout” corner button on locked load-out cards — the card itself has carried that button since 0.8.10.
v0.8.10 Jul 24, 2026
No more BeamMP re-downloads, load-outs that follow your newest version, and a quieter startup
  • BeamMP mods no longer re-download every session. BMM used to tidy the BeamMP launcher’s own cached mod files into your library when you closed the game — which made the launcher download the whole set again on your next join. It now leaves that cache alone and simply tells you what it found there. Bringing those files into Mod Storage is a manual click, and it copies them instead of moving them, so the launcher keeps its copy.
  • Preparing a server is smarter: BMM now names the file the way the launcher looks it up, so a mod you already own is far more likely to be reused instead of re-downloaded — and when the launcher already has the right file, BMM leaves it alone and counts it as ready. It still can’t promise a match in advance; BeamMP confirms each mod on join.
  • Load-outs follow the newest version. Import or download a newer build of a mod that’s in a load-out and the load-out moves to it automatically, so applying it no longer brings the old build back. Choose a version by hand and it stays pinned to your choice until something newer than it arrives.
  • The startup check for mod updates is now a Player-and-up feature — and this update switches it off for everyone, including if you had it turned on. You can turn it back on any time under Settings → “Check for mod updates when BMM starts”. The manual “Check for updates” button, and seeing which of your mods have updates, stay free for everyone.
  • Polish: the “Versions to keep per mod” slider label sits in line again, locked load-out cards get a proper tinted card with an “Unlock Loadout” button, the lock icons on “Update Mod” and “Update All” are larger and no longer washed out, the theme lock badge moved out of the theme name’s way, and the WizTree tip in Settings is now a link.
v0.8.9 Jul 22, 2026
Wider Patreon creator recognition
  • More mods now show a “Support the creator on Patreon” link — BMM recognizes a creator across their whole catalog, not just mods where they linked Patreon in the description.
  • Renamed and restyled the sidebar filter to “Patreon Creators Only” with a clearer on/off Patreon logo.
v0.8.8 Jul 21, 2026
Auto-import on close, double-load warnings, and one-click app updates
  • Importing a single mod now shows its actual name in the confirmation, instead of a generic message.
  • Load-out cards: clearer expand/collapse buttons, and the “newer version in your library” hint is now a labeled badge so it’s obvious what it means.
  • BMM can now import new mods automatically when you close BeamNG or BeamMP — on by default, with a toggle in Settings. It tidies up byte-identical duplicates the same way a manual import does.
  • A heads-up when you activate a mod you’re also subscribed to in-game, which BeamNG would otherwise load twice.
  • One-click app updates: BMM now tells you when a new version is available and can download and install it for you.
v0.8.7 Jul 21, 2026
Leaner, more private telemetry
  • Trimmed the optional, anonymous telemetry down to a few big-picture signals: app launches, first-run completion, theme choice, clicks on outbound links, and the two Patreon connect steps. That’s all it records now.
  • BMM no longer sends any event for importing mods, activating or deactivating them, opening features, opening the premium screen, creating or applying load-outs, or downloading updates — fewer background requests, and less recorded about how you use the app.
  • Unchanged: telemetry stays off unless you opt in, and it never includes file paths, mod names, or anything that could identify you.
v0.8.6 Jul 20, 2026
Safer folder choices, honest update messages, and reliability hardening
  • Choosing your Mod Storage folder now warns you when the folder is one BeamNG or BeamMP manages — where the game or launcher could move or delete your mods.
  • “Update All” now reports honestly: it counts only the mods that actually switched over, notes any it downloaded for you to enable later, and no longer claims everything is up to date when you cancel a run with updates still pending.
  • The mod details page now shows the “Update available” panel — with its changelog and “Ignore for updates” options — for every mod the Updates page lists.
  • Undoing an automatic duplicate cleanup now works even after you’ve moved your Mod Storage to a different drive.
  • Plus a broad round of reliability and safety hardening across imports, updates, duplicate cleanup, and membership checks.
v0.8.5 Jul 20, 2026
Safer imports, steadier membership checks, and a security update
  • Fixed a rare case where importing a mod through an unusual folder path — a mapped drive, shortcut, or junction that points at your Mod Storage — could send the original file to the Recycle Bin. Your library originals are now protected in that case.
  • Fixed a downloaded update occasionally being discarded and reported as “already up to date” when the matching file was missing from your library; the update now installs correctly.
  • Improved the reliability of Patreon membership checks: a brief connection problem, or reconnecting to a different account, can no longer momentarily drop or cross up a supporter’s benefits.
  • Updated the underlying app framework to the latest security patch.
v0.8.4 Jul 20, 2026
One-click update fixes and a startup safeguard
  • Fixed an update that could reappear forever: after updating a repository mod, the older build could keep showing “update available” and re-download the same file on every check. It now correctly recognizes that version as up to date.
  • Fixed the Update now and Update All buttons sometimes refusing to run — with a “Close BeamNG” message — even when the game was already closed.
  • Fixed a rare case where a damaged settings file could stop BMM from opening; it now falls back to defaults instead.
v0.8.3 Jul 19, 2026
One-click mod updates, a cleaner tag vocabulary, and a link home
  • Update now: mods from the official repository can be updated in one click — BMM downloads the new version into Mod Storage, switches your active link over, and keeps the old build in your library. Player members and up.
  • Update All: Supporters can refresh every outdated mod in one click — downloads run one at a time with gentle pacing, visible progress, and a Cancel button.
  • Updates are polite by design: you trigger every download, BMM identifies itself honestly, spaces requests out, and backs off immediately if the repository asks it to slow down.
  • Tags: the suggestion list is now Cars, Trucks, Aircraft, and Drift — and the automatic tags (vehicles, sound, script, …) are gone, including from mods already in your library. Your own custom tags are untouched and now keep the capitalization you type.
  • Added a link to the BMM website in Settings and the sidebar.
  • Privacy note: with telemetry consent on, BMM now also records an anonymous update-download event (single/bulk + outcome only — never which mod).
v0.8.2 Jul 18, 2026
Version stacking, checkbox category filters, and a toolbar that holds up on narrow windows
  • Version stacking: multiple versions of the same mod now collapse into one card — a version chip opens a list to switch or delete builds. On by default; turn it off under View → Stack Versions.
  • Category filters are now checkboxes, so you can combine any set of categories at once — just like the Author filter.
  • Fixed toolbar buttons overlapping on narrow and portrait windows: the toolbar now collapses further into icon-only buttons instead of overflowing.
  • Load-out members now show a hint when a newer version of that mod is sitting in your library.
  • Mod details: new “Versions in your library” section to jump between or switch builds without leaving the page.
v0.8.1 Jul 18, 2026
Redesigned category filters, an auto-sizing toolbar, and honest update messaging
  • Category filters redesigned: they now apply only to All Mods and In Library Only, stay armed while you move between pages, and show a ring on the active color dot. Other views simply ignore them.
  • The toolbar now auto-sizes just like the top bar — no more overlapping buttons on narrow or portrait windows; the View options appear inline when there’s room.
  • Cleaner mod cards: the Patreon heart moved to the bottom-right corner, and the conflict/variant/duplicate badges are gone — the Conflicts and Duplicates pages are their home.
  • Importing a newer version of a mod you already have now says so honestly (“Added a newer version of a mod in your library”), and the outdated copy stops waiting on the Updates page.
  • New “Patreon creators” filter, a “Go to BeamNG Repo Page” button in mod details, and a collapsed Conflicts section (with a count and a jump button) at the bottom of the details drawer.
  • Duplicate resolver cards now highlight the deciding stats (newest Updated date, highest update count) behind the Keep suggestion.
  • New default tag suggestions: cars, trucks, aircraft, maps, ui, gameplay, sound, skins.
  • Launch BeamNG now starts the game directly (with Steam as fallback) — faster than the Steam round-trip.
  • After an Undo in the cleanup log, the entry now reads “restored”.
  • Dozens of small fixes from this release’s review cycle — including honest empty-states under the new filters and update badges that always match what the page shows.
v0.8.0 Jul 17, 2026
Automatic duplicate cleanup, version housekeeping, and Duplicates free for everyone
  • Automatic duplicate cleanup: byte-identical copies of a mod you import — including BeamMP server downloads that land under a different name — now fold into one library entry automatically. The redundant file goes to the Recycle Bin; nothing is ever stored twice.
  • Version housekeeping: BMM now keeps your newest versions of each repository mod (you choose how many, 1–6, default 2) and quarantines older ones with a 7-day undo, so nothing is ever gone for good by surprise — see the new cleanup log in Settings → Duplicates & versions.
  • Older server versions you re-download in BeamMP are left in the launcher’s own cache instead of stacking up in your library.
  • The Duplicates tool is now free for everyone.
  • New identity engine: mods are now recognized the same way BeamNG.drive itself recognizes them (the repository id baked into the zip), so a renamed file can no longer fool the library into treating it as something new.
v0.7.11 Jul 16, 2026
Safety and stability hardening
  • BMM now waits for the BeamMP launcher to close before changing BeamMP mods, so prepping or editing your mods can no longer clash with a join that’s still downloading in the background.
  • Premium themes now correctly revert to a free theme if your supporter membership lapses — you can pick them again any time you resubscribe.
  • Fixed the Duplicates page showing a “broken mods found” banner while also saying your library looks clean when a search or author filter was active.
  • Behind-the-scenes safety and stability hardening — protecting your saved loadouts from a rare corruption case, the server browser, mod activation, and Patreon membership checks — from a full internal security and code review.
v0.7.10 Jul 13, 2026
A BeamMP server browser, a friendlier top bar, and interface polish
  • New “BeamMP server browser”: see any server’s required mods and one-click prep the ones you already have so BeamMP verifies them instead of re-downloading — fewer duplicate copies, faster joins, free for everyone. BMM only checks the public BeamMP server list; no personal data is sent.
  • The top bar and toolbar now adapt cleanly to narrow and portrait-monitor windows.
  • Mod cards now always show the “Support the creator on Patreon” badge.
  • Clearer lock icon on locked loadouts, plus a tidier mod details and Settings page.
  • Removed the top-bar conflicts pill (conflicts are still shown in the sidebar and on mod cards).
v0.7.9 Jul 12, 2026
Support mod creators, an outage-proof supporter wall, and drag-to-reorder loadouts
  • New “Support the creator on Patreon”: mods made by Patreon creators now show a link in Mod Details and a small badge on their card, and shared loadouts carry those links too — so you can support the creators behind the mods that aren’t in your library yet.
  • The Wall of Supporters no longer goes blank if Patreon has a hiccup — BMM keeps showing the last known list through an outage.
  • BMM now runs a quick library rescan each time it starts, so your Updates, Duplicates and Conflicts counts are right immediately after installing a new version — no more “please run a Rescan” reminders. You can turn this off in Settings.
  • Mod updates now reliably show the new version’s release date.
  • Loadouts: drag to reorder them in the sidebar, and imported “not in your library yet” mods now appear above the member list instead of being pushed off-screen.
  • Fixes: the “you’re all up to date” message now respects your active filters, dragging a loadout no longer flashes the “drop mods here” overlay, plus assorted stability hardening.
v0.7.8 Jul 12, 2026
Accurate update detection and a full-page loadout view
  • Update detection is now near-exact: BMM matches your installed file against the repository’s exact file version, and no longer mistakes recent reviews on a mod’s page for new releases. Mods that are already up to date disappear from the Updates page.
  • The suggested update now shows its release date — so a renumbered release (say, a full “1.0.0” after a “1.7.x” beta) reads correctly as the newest version.
  • New “Ignore for updates”: hide a mod from the Updates page when it ships bad version info — from the Updates selection bar or Mod Details, with a one-click Re-include.
  • Tip: run one Rescan after updating so update checks can use exact file matching for your existing library.
  • Loadouts: expanding a loadout now fills the whole page at any window size and opens front-and-center from the sidebar; the compact details list gives way to the full mod grid, and member cards use your theme’s colors with centered names.
  • Activating a loadout now asks for confirmation before replacing your active mod set.
  • Tidier selection bar: “Remove from Loadout” lives there now, and the redundant “Select all” button is gone (the top row keeps Select All).
v0.7.7 Jul 11, 2026
Security and stability hardening
  • Hardened Backup & Restore: restoring a backup file is now strictly confined to BMM’s own data folder, so a malicious or corrupted backup can’t place files anywhere else on your PC. As always, only restore backups from a source you trust.
  • Fixed a potential crash: opening a mod’s image picker or carousel on an unusually-built mod zip could crash BMM. Such files are now detected and skipped safely.
  • Steadier Patreon supporter status: if a status refresh is interrupted at just the wrong moment, BMM now keeps your saved credentials in sync so your supporter tier doesn’t briefly drop until the next check.
v0.7.6 Jul 11, 2026
Mod update detection
  • New "Updates" list in the sidebar: BMM now checks your installed repository mods against the official BeamNG mod repository and flags the ones with a newer version, with a summary of what changed and a one-click "Open official page".
  • Free for everyone. Runs when you click "Check for updates", and once at launch (turn the launch check off in Settings).
  • Privacy: checking sends only the numeric repository ids of your installed mods to BMM’s licensing service, which reads the public mod pages on your behalf. No file names or personal data are sent, and no mod files are downloaded.
v0.7.5 Jul 10, 2026
Supporter avatars, roomier loadouts, and counts that stay right after updates
  • The Wall of Supporters now shows each supporter’s Patreon profile picture, with a clean initials badge as the fallback.
  • Fixed: the Duplicates and Conflicts counts no longer reset to zero right after you update BMM — they’re accurate the moment you open the app, without toggling anything.
  • A tidier Loadouts sidebar: your first seven loadouts show at a glance, with a “Show more” to reveal the rest only when you want them.
  • Expand any loadout into a full-width view right on the Loadouts page — see every mod it contains at a glance with all its actions in one place. The compact cards stay put for comparing loadouts side by side.
  • Clicking a loadout in the sidebar now opens its view instead of switching your mods immediately — you activate it from there, so a stray click can’t swap your whole setup.
  • Locked loadouts are much clearer: a lock icon over the card and an Unlock button right in the corner.
v0.7.4 Jul 10, 2026
Standing with mod creators, safer Patreon sign-in, cleaner sidebar
  • BMM now stands with the mod creators who make BeamNG what it is: mods sourced from known mod-piracy sites are automatically stripped of the pirate site’s file branding when they enter your library, and mods already in your library are cleaned up on the next rescan. Piracy sites don’t get ad space in BMM.
  • Patreon sign-in got safer under the hood: your account credentials now never pass through the browser at all — only a one-time code does, following the industry standard for desktop sign-ins (RFC 8252). Existing connections keep working unchanged.
  • Mods are now “Activated” and “Deactivated” everywhere — the old Enable/Disable wording is gone, so buttons say what BMM actually does: linking a mod into your game.
  • A cleaner sidebar: loadout rows now show just the name, mod count, and Unlock when a slot is free — editing, renaming, and deleting live on the Loadouts page where they belong.
  • The “Go Premium” card over the Conflicts and Duplicates preview is no longer see-through.
  • Under the hood: browsing images on picture-heavy mods uses a fraction of the memory it used to, the Delete key and dialogs respect every open overlay, and several internal safety checks were unified and locked down with new regression gates.
v0.7.3 Jul 10, 2026
Hardening across the board: safer file handling, smarter detection, sturdier services
  • Mod files are moved and activated more carefully: moving a mod between drives now makes sure the copy is fully written before the original is removed, and an interrupted activation can no longer leave a half-written zip in your game folder.
  • “Likely the same mod” detection is more precise: different trims of a car — like a GT versus a GTR — are no longer lumped together as the same mod.
  • Broken archives are called out honestly: a zip with no files inside now shows up as broken instead of pretending to be a duplicate — and a deliberately malformed zip can no longer crash the library scan.
  • Loadouts: restoring the same backup twice no longer creates “(restored 2)” copies, importing a loadout file now reports save problems honestly instead of leaving a phantom loadout behind, and applying a loadout right as mods are being re-imported no longer leaves a just-healed member inactive.
  • Your settings file is double-checked on load (a hand-edited or damaged value can no longer flip how mods are linked or break the layout), and an unusually-shaped data file is set aside for recovery instead of being discarded.
  • Privacy & security: if Windows secure storage is unavailable, BMM no longer saves your Patreon renewal token in a recoverable form; quitting with unsent (opt-in, anonymous) usage stats is now capped to a moment so BMM can’t linger in the background; and BMM runs on the latest Electron security patch. Our online services also gained extra protection against abuse.
v0.7.2 Jul 9, 2026
Under-the-hood reliability: safer data, membership & folder handling
  • Your settings and library are better protected on startup. If a file is momentarily locked by antivirus or the Windows Search indexer right as BMM launches, it now retries instead of falling back to defaults — and if it still can’t read a file, it refuses to overwrite it, so a brief lock can’t reset your settings or blank your catalog.
  • Steadier Patreon membership: an entitlement with no expiry is no longer treated as permanent, and connecting is more robust — a stray or repeated local request can’t cancel a Patreon sign-in mid-flow.
  • BMM won’t point at the wrong game folder if your saved one is briefly offline. When your BeamNG, BeamMP, or mods folder lives on an external/USB or cloud-synced drive that’s momentarily unavailable, BMM keeps your saved choice instead of retargeting to a different install.
v0.7.1 Jul 9, 2026
A tidier home for your BMM data
  • BMM’s data folder has a clearer name: what used to live in %APPDATA%\beamng-mod-catalog now lives in %APPDATA%\BeamNG Mod Manager. The move happens automatically the first time you launch this version — your catalog, loadouts, thumbnails, settings and Patreon connection all come along, and there’s nothing you need to do. (Your Mod Storage folder is untouched.)
v0.7.0 Jul 9, 2026
Back up everything that makes BMM yours — plus friendlier loadout unlocks
  • New: Backup & Restore. Save your loadouts, tags, favorites, ratings, notes and custom mod images to a single portable .bmmbackup file — and bring them back after a reinstall or on a second PC (Settings → Backup, or “Restore from a backup” right on the welcome screen). Your mod files themselves aren’t copied, and restoring never deletes or overwrites anything you’ve set up locally — data for mods you haven’t added yet simply waits and reconnects automatically as they arrive.
  • Freeing a loadout slot on the free plan now asks which locked loadout you’d like back — and locked loadouts show an Unlock button whenever a slot is open, instead of silently unlocking one for you.
  • Support buttons got a glow-up: the official Ko-Fi button (matched to your theme) now appears in the sidebar, Settings and the Go Premium window, and a Patreon button joins the social row in both the sidebar and Settings.
  • Loadout cards: the image area is taller again for a fuller picture.
v0.6.11 Jul 9, 2026
Loadout polish, a friendlier upgrade preview & a Ko-Fi option
  • Loadouts look better: each card’s image is taller and framed from the bottom, so the vehicle fills the space instead of getting clipped. Rename a loadout right from its card with the new pencil button.
  • The mod list under each loadout is clearer: click any mod to reveal its size, author and a “Show Mod Details” button — and each loadout’s list now shows the mod’s author. Open lists stay open, and a new “Detailed” checkbox expands every loadout at once.
  • Fixed: after you delete loadouts to get back under the free limit, any that were locked now unlock automatically — and the loadout counter stays accurate.
  • Curious about Conflicts or Duplicates on the free plan? Clicking them now shows a live preview of your own results (softly blurred) with a one-click way to unlock, instead of just a pop-up.
  • New ways to support and follow BMM: X, Twitch, Telegram and Ko-Fi links in the sidebar, and a Ko-Fi one-time-donation option in the Go Premium window for those who’d rather not subscribe.
v0.6.10 Jul 8, 2026
Under-the-hood reliability: a safer library, loadouts & Patreon checks
  • Your library is protected against flaky drives. A rescan while your Mod Storage folder is briefly unreadable — an antivirus scan, or an external/USB drive waking up — no longer drops mods or forgets their tags, favorites, and custom images. And if the whole folder is unplugged or empty, BMM now leaves your library untouched and asks you to reconnect it, instead of clearing it.
  • Loadouts are safer too: a loadout can no longer be emptied — or lose the information it uses to heal itself — when your library momentarily looks empty.
  • Sturdier Patreon membership checks: a background re-check and a manual “Re-check” can no longer collide, so they can’t briefly drop a paying supporter to free — and disconnecting right as a check is running now works cleanly.
  • More reliable saves on Windows: when writing your settings or data hits a brief file lock (antivirus or the search indexer), BMM now retries instead of silently losing the change.
v0.6.9 Jul 8, 2026
A bigger, better Loadouts page
  • Loadouts get a fresh look: each one is now a large card with a hero image (it borrows the picture from the biggest mod inside it until you choose your own), a clean three-across layout, and a new “Loadout details” drop-down that lists every mod in the set with its size.
  • Rename a loadout right where you edit it — the editor now has an editable name field, so the name and its mods save together in one step.
  • Deleting a loadout now asks you to confirm first, so a stray click can’t wipe a set you built. Your mods are never touched — only the loadout is removed.
  • Fixed the close (×) buttons on the Settings window and the mod details panel: the whole button is clickable now, not just part of it.
  • Polish: tidied wording across the app (“loadout” is now spelled consistently) and clarified the “Connect with Patreon” copy.
v0.6.8 Jul 7, 2026
Load-outs get their own page — with icons and sharing
  • Load-outs now have a dedicated page: click “Load-Outs” in the sidebar to see every load-out as a card with its own icon (pick one from the mods inside it), a live mod count, and one-click Activate, Edit, Rename, Export and Delete — plus “New load-out”, “Save active set” and “Import load-out” buttons up top.
  • Share a load-out with anyone: Export writes a small .bmmloadout file you can send over Discord, and Import rebuilds it on the other BMM — mods they already have are matched instantly, and anything missing is listed as “not in your library yet” with a link to its official BeamNG repository page so they can go get it.
  • Imported load-outs complete themselves: when you later add a missing mod to your library, it automatically joins the load-out it belongs to — no manual fixing.
  • Fixed: creating a new load-out while another was active no longer silently copies in all of its mods — “New load-out” now starts empty and opens the mod picker, and saving your currently active set is its own clearly-labeled button.
  • Fixed a Duplicates false alarm where a short pack file name (a one- or two-letter pack prefix) dragged every same-prefix pack mod into one “likely the same mod” group — unrelated pack cars are no longer flagged.
  • “Keep Only This” is back for every duplicate set (pairs included), and “Show” is now “Show File”.
  • The “Become a Supporter” button on the Wall of Supporters actually opens Patreon now.
  • Polish: “Space Saved” is now called “Disk Space Savings”, the duplicate-import notification spells out in bold that nothing was deleted, and onboarding’s import page no longer splits a sentence mid-thought or crowds the usage-stats checkbox off the page. Your mod records refresh on the next rescan to power the new repository links.
v0.6.7 Jul 5, 2026
Clearer duplicates, a sharper Resolve tool & pop-ups that fit your screen
  • Imported duplicates are now unmistakable: when a mod you add collides with one you already have, the copy is named “ - IMPORTED DUPLICATE” (instead of the cryptic “ - Dup 1”), so it’s obvious what happened and which file to review under Duplicates.
  • The Resolve tool got a big cleanup: each card shows its stats in two tidy columns and the action buttons are always in reach — no more scrolling to find Delete. “Keep Only This” now only appears when a set has 3 or more copies (with just a pair it’s the same as Delete), the large centered pop-up after each decision is gone (the corner notification is plenty), and Resolve only announces a survivor when the delete actually succeeded.
  • Space Saved tells one honest story everywhere: the pop-up now shows the two numbers that matter — duplicates removed and your library size — import screens no longer promise savings up front (savings display as you delete any duplicates you discover), and the Settings breakdown always adds up to the total. New tip in Settings: a free tool like WizTree can hunt down stray mod .zips anywhere on your disk.
  • Easier on the eyes and the mouse: the window controls (minimize/maximize/close) are about 25% larger, every scrollbar now matches your theme color like the image carousel’s, and pop-ups auto-fit smaller screens — onboarding no longer needs scrolling.
  • BeamMP now shows its launcher version in the top-left (e.g. “BeamMP 2.8.0”) and in Settings, just like BeamNG always has.
  • New: an Enable button pops up next to Delete when you select mods, so you can enable a whole selection in one click.
  • Clearer wording throughout: “Import mods from BeamNG / BeamMP” buttons, a plainer note on Always Copy, and connecting a Patreon account that isn’t subscribed now says exactly that — with a link to join — instead of a scary “Connection failed”.
v0.6.6 Jul 3, 2026
Reliable imports, no more “duplicate” clutter & a clean exit
  • Fixed the big one: bringing in mods you already had no longer creates “ - Dup” copies. When BMM finds mods already sitting in your Mod Storage folder (after a reinstall, a reset, or pointing BMM at an existing library), it now recognizes them and reconnects your active set instead of making confusing duplicates. Importing from your game folder then says “Reconnected N mods” — nothing is moved or copied.
  • Drag-and-drop and “Add Mods” now bring everything into your library and are honest about it: duplicates of mods you already have are imported too and flagged for you to review in the Duplicates tool — BMM never deletes your files on its own — and the summary tells you exactly what happened instead of a misleading “unreadable”.
  • Space Saved is even more honest: deleting a duplicate that was only a hard link (sharing its data with another copy) no longer counts as reclaimed disk, because nothing was actually freed.
  • Fixed: the app could keep running invisibly in the background (holding onto your data folder) — and opening it again would silently start a second hidden copy. BMM is now single-instance: launching it again brings the existing window to the front, a window that fails to appear shows itself within a few seconds, and a shutdown safety net guarantees the process exits when you close it. A tiny local troubleshooting log records each launch/exit to catch anything that recurs — it stays on your machine and is never sent anywhere.
  • Onboarding now explains up front that a mod showing in both your game folder and Mod Storage is the same single file in two places (a hard link), not a wasteful second copy.
v0.6.5 Jul 2, 2026
Self-healing load-outs, better image browsing & honest space savings
  • Load-outs now survive library rebuilds — members are re-matched by content, not internal id. Delete a mod and re-import it later (or move and re-import your whole library) and your load-outs pick it right back up instead of showing 0.
  • The Space Saved chip now lives in the top bar from the moment you install (starting at 0 B), and onboarding shows your savings update live while you import. The pop-up also explains the magic: with the default hard-link activation, a mod showing in both your game folder and your library is still just ONE file on disk — imports move your files, they don’t copy them.
  • Browsing a mod’s images is much nicer: the enlarged view now has previous/next arrows with wrap-around, a “3 / 7” counter, and responds to your keyboard (←/→ to flip, Esc to close).
  • The expanded mod-details drawer no longer stretches across the entire window (or distorts its header image) — it opens to a comfortable reading width instead.
  • The Wall of BMM Supporters now features our real founding members — MaKayla, BORCS and elkcustoms 🧡 — and the membership screen wording got a polish, including a cleaner Patreon connection status.
  • New: optional anonymous usage stats, OFF by default. Opt in during onboarding or in Settings → Privacy and BMM counts which features get used, to guide development. Feature counts only — never file names, folders, mod names, or anything personal — and turning it off also deletes your anonymous ID.
v0.6.4 Jul 1, 2026
Under-the-hood: updated core engine for security & performance
  • Updated the app’s core engine (Electron) and build tooling to the latest versions. This clears a batch of known security advisories in the old engine and picks up performance and stability improvements. Nothing about how the app works changes — your library, load-outs, settings, and Patreon connection all carry over untouched.
v0.6.3 Jul 1, 2026
Foundation hardening — security fixes, honest counters & safer deletes
  • Security hardening throughout: thumbnails are served with a much stricter path check, the app window now runs fully sandboxed, unexpected pop-ups and navigation are blocked, BMM only opens folders it manages, and the shipped app uses a tighter content-security policy.
  • Deleting a mod whose .zip is locked (open in another program) no longer quietly loses track of it — BMM now tells you the file is in use and keeps the mod safely in your library, custom thumbnail and all.
  • Space Saved stays honest in more corner cases: a cross-drive combine that has to write a copy back no longer counts as a saving, and neither does a delete that didn’t actually happen.
  • Import From Game/BeamMP will never remove a copy of a mod whose Mod Storage original has gone missing — the incoming file is left untouched, since it’s the only copy you have left.
  • The Conflicts and Duplicates counts now match exactly what their pages show, even while a search or author filter is active.
  • Deleting several mods at once now reports exactly how many were removed, and tells you about any file that couldn’t be.
  • Free tier: only your 5 unlocked load-outs count toward the limit — locked ones no longer block creating a new one.
  • Small fixes: the “also delete file” checkbox resets when you switch mods, and the supporter wall now handles two patrons sharing a display name.
v0.6.2 Jun 29, 2026
Smarter duplicates, space-saving imports, editable authors & a live supporter wall
  • Resolve now suggests keeping the right copy: the clean original (shortest, un-suffixed filename) instead of a “- Dup” or re-downloaded copy — so the green “Keep” badge points where you’d expect.
  • Adding mods now MOVES them into your library — drag-and-drop and “Add mods” alike — instead of leaving a second copy behind, so importing actually frees up space. Your active mods and library are protected: BMM never moves a file it already manages, and never touches the game folder while BeamNG is running.
  • Edit a mod’s Author right in its details, with type-ahead from authors you already have — handy for mods that ship without one.
  • Mod details show more at a glance — file, size, date added, category, rating, downloads, and published/updated dates — ordered most-useful first.
  • New in Settings: a Space Saved summary at the bottom, and an “Import from BeamNG” button alongside the BeamMP one.
  • The Wall of Supporters now updates itself from Patreon — new supporters appear automatically (shown by Patreon username).
  • A fresh, fully-branded installer.
v0.6.1 Jun 29, 2026
Behind-the-scenes: a more reliable Patreon connection
  • Moved the Patreon membership check to a dedicated, more reliable service domain. Connecting, re-checking, and disconnecting all work exactly as before — nothing for you to do.
v0.6.0 Jun 28, 2026
Connect with Patreon — instant, key-free unlocking
  • Unlocking premium is now effortless: open Go Premium, click “Connect with Patreon”, and sign in — your membership unlocks Player or Supporter instantly. No license keys to copy or paste, ever.
  • Your tier stays in sync on its own — BMM re-checks your Patreon membership when it launches (and quietly in the background), and keeps working offline for up to 14 days between checks.
  • Manage it anytime from Go Premium: see the Patreon account you’re connected as, “Re-check membership”, or “Disconnect”.
  • A small, privacy-friendly sign-in (your Patreon password never touches BMM) replaces the old manual key system end to end.
v0.5.9 Jun 26, 2026
Honest space-saved numbers, real folder combining & a branded installer
  • Space Saved now counts only the disk you actually reclaim — copies removed when combining your BeamNG and BeamMP folders into one library, plus duplicates you clean with the Resolve tool. Simply activating a mod no longer inflates the number (hard-linking uses no extra disk, so it isn’t a “saving”).
  • Importing from your game or BeamMP folders now truly combines: a .zip that’s byte-for-byte identical to one already in Mod Storage is removed instead of left behind as a redundant copy (and that reclaimed space is tallied), so you stop collecting “- Dup” copies.
  • The Conflicts count in the sidebar and top bar now matches the number of mods shown on the Conflicts page exactly.
  • Rescan shows its progress more reliably — the loading bar and pop-up now update across the whole scan, including when only new files are being added.
  • Resolve tool: the green badge now clearly reads “Keep this / Keep · newest” so it’s obvious it marks the copy to keep, not delete. Placeholder “Dec 31, 1969” dates are ignored.
  • Polish: themed sliders that match your theme, a clear loading spinner in the image picker, centered Space-Saved cards, a wired-up supporters wall, and a new BeamNG-styled installer.
v0.5.8 Jun 26, 2026
Space Saved dashboard, smarter images & a sharper Resolve tool
  • New Space Saved dashboard: a tidy breakdown of the disk space BMM saves you by hardlinking active mods instead of copying them, plus what you reclaim cleaning duplicates — open it from the new “saved” chip in the top bar.
  • Resolve tool upgrades: mod cards now show rich repository details (rating, downloads, version, last-updated and published dates) with a “Newest/Suggested” badge to guide which copy to keep, the full .zip filename is always visible, and you can mark a mod “Not a Duplicate” to remove it from the list.
  • Smarter mod images: the picker/carousel now hides tiny low-res icons (unless that’s all there is), drops duplicate “thumbs” mirrors and exact-duplicate images, prefers images that match the mod’s name, and demotes skin/livery and in-game screen backgrounds.
  • Delete buttons are now clear white, bold, and a touch larger everywhere (including the Resolve pop-up).
  • The installer/desktop icon is now crisp at every size, the BeamNG section gained a “Set User Folder to Default” button, the detail and image-popup close buttons are easier to click, and the onboarding folder step now scrolls so “Get Started” is always reachable.
v0.5.7 Jun 25, 2026
Beautiful carousel, clearer folder pickers & friendlier onboarding
  • Mod image carousel: the scrollbar is now a slim accent-colored bar (no more grey Windows default), images are ordered by quality — real screenshots and mod_info art first, then resolution — and a “Loading images…” placeholder shows while they load.
  • Conflicts and Duplicates now show their counts even on the free tier, so you can see what’s there before unlocking.
  • Folder pickers (Change Folder, Set BeamMP Mods Folder) now reassure you that the .zip mods inside stay safe — Windows’ folder chooser only lists sub-folders, never files, so your mods were never gone.
  • Onboarding: the Light/Dark switch is now a subtle Sun/Moon button at the bottom; the folder step explains the default location (shown as a clickable path), suggests keeping Mod Storage on the same drive for instant hard-linking, and adds an “Import from BeamMP Mods” button.
  • Confirmed that importing from your game or BeamMP folders moves the .zip into Mod Storage (no duplicate copies), and bolded “Uses extra disk space” on the Always-Copy option.
v0.5.6 Jun 25, 2026
Onboarding polish, clearer folders & BeamMP auto-detect
  • Onboarding: a Light/Dark toggle to pick your theme right away, a bigger themed logo, a fixed first-line layout, and clearer wording that Mod Storage is the one home for all your mods (not your game folders).
  • BeamMP Resources folder is now auto-detected across the launcher’s install locations, plus a new “Import from BeamMP Mods” button.
  • Settings: the Storage folder and BeamMP mods folder paths are now clickable to open them.
  • Category section dividers are larger and easier to spot while scrolling; the membership/Go Premium icon uses the rounded BMM logo.
  • Delete buttons now use clear black text, the “Also delete the .zip” checkbox sits neatly, and the image carousel has a slim themed scrollbar.
v0.5.5 Jun 25, 2026
Clearer Settings, a livelier upgrade & a Rescan that shows its work
  • Settings reorganized: About and Themes are now at the top, and About explains plainly how Mod Storage + hardlinking work and save you disk space.
  • Membership and Go Premium pages now share a centered header with the large themed BMM logo.
  • Tier cards read “You’re a Player/Supporter” for your current tier and “Included in your tier” only when you’re on a higher one.
  • Cranked-up celebration badge animations and a bigger “Let’s Go!” button.
  • Game user folder and Game Mods folder paths are now clickable to open them; “Set Active Mod Folder” has clearer wording, plus a note on when to Rebuild the Mod Database.
  • Rescan now shows a “scanning your library” overlay instead of appearing to freeze, the changelog shows release dates, and the Telegram link is fixed.
v0.5.4 Jun 25, 2026
Smarter duplicates, safer deletes & Mod Storage
  • Duplicate detection is far more confident: byte-identical copies and “likely the same mod” (now version- and date-aware) are shown as separate, labelled sections, and the sidebar count finally matches what’s inside.
  • Deleting a .zip now sends it to the Recycle Bin instead of erasing it — restore anything you remove by mistake.
  • The selection Delete button (and the Delete key) open a centered confirm with an “Also delete the .zip” option.
  • Your library is now called Mod Storage, with a Set to Default button and a warning if you pick a folder inside BeamNG’s game folder.
  • Select All toggles to Deselect once anything is selected; added a Telegram link; the upgrade celebration now fires when you enter a key while already subscribed, with vibrant animated Player/Supporter badges.
  • Hardening: corrupt catalog/load-out files are backed up and recovered instead of silently wiped, and saved files are flushed to disk.
v0.5.3 Jun 24, 2026
Version variants, multi-author filter & a warmer upgrade
  • Detection now flags version variants — different builds of the same mod (e.g. a map at v0.1 vs v0.2), not just byte-identical duplicates.
  • Resolve handles both at once, labelling each group as identical copies or versions of the same mod.
  • Filter by multiple authors with checkboxes, and “Unknown Author” is now its own selectable, clickable author.
  • Drag-and-drop always adds dropped .zip files now, tagging repeats with a “ - Dup N” suffix instead of skipping them.
  • Upgrading shows a celebration banner that stays until you close it, and the membership screen is centered with the BMM logo.
  • Donate on Ko-fi plus social links in About, ALL-CAPS sidebar headings, and assorted layout polish.
v0.5.2 Jun 23, 2026
Fixes & refinements
  • Load-out limit now truly enforced — locked load-outs are shown locked and the counter reflects unlocked ones.
  • Conflict detection moved to the Player tier (no core feature behind the top tier).
  • Resolve now matches your selection: a single set opens one window; multiple sets step through with a count.
  • Removed star ratings (revisiting for performance); fixed Add Mods / Report a Bug hover.
  • Scrollable Author dropdown that applies only on select or click-out.
  • Mod descriptions now also strip links (Patreon, etc.).
  • Title-case buttons & labels, orange side-arrow to widen the detail panel, and a confirmation when a duplicate is resolved.
v0.5.1 Jun 23, 2026
Carousels, ratings & lots of polish
  • Image carousel + full-screen lightbox in the mod detail panel, plus a custom-image picker.
  • Star ratings on every mod card, and a slider to resize the card grid.
  • Filter by author — type-ahead, or click any author on a card.
  • Smarter load-out tools: create from selection, and remove-from-load-out (only shows load-outs the mod is in).
  • Hazard-styled Delete for selections and in the detail panel, with an arm-to-confirm step.
  • Cleaner mod descriptions (spoilers/attachments stripped) that scroll when long.
  • Resolve duplicates now steps through every group with progress; 0 B broken files handled separately.
  • A celebratory confetti + chime when you upgrade, a Report-a-Bug button, and naming fixes.
v0.5 Jun 23, 2026
Custom images, smarter tags & mod details
  • Mod card art now uses the mod_info image first, with a custom-image picker (pick a bundled image or your own file).
  • Tag autocomplete + suggestions from your existing tags.
  • Mod details: show each mod’s tag-line on cards, plus tag-line & message in the detail panel.
  • Create a load-out from selected mods, and Remove-from-load-out without opening Edit.
  • Downgrade-safe load-outs: pick which 5 to keep when going Free; the rest lock (never deleted) and return when you re-subscribe.
  • Conflicts screen now explains it’s troubleshooting-only.
  • Taskbar icon, exact full game version in Settings, and the app in the About section.
v0.4 Jun 22, 2026
Native title bar, supporter wall & polish
  • Frameless, native-feeling title bar with themed minimize/maximize/close controls.
  • Wall of Supporters — a showcase of everyone who funds development.
  • Conflicts & Duplicates always visible in the sidebar (locked until you subscribe).
  • Correct BeamNG version shown (read from the game’s own records).
  • Themed app logo, greener Launch button, and a fixed BeamMP folder picker.
v0.3 Jun 22, 2026
Manager rename, premium tiers & onboarding
  • Renamed to BeamNG Mod Manager.
  • Unified library now drives both BeamNG and BeamMP with one shared storage.
  • New 3-step onboarding with an elevator pitch and a premium showcase.
  • Premium tiers: Duplicate detection (Player) and Conflict detection (Supporter).
  • Resolve duplicates side-by-side and delete the copy you don’t want.
  • 9 themes including a free BeamNG Light + BeamNG Dark, with live previews.
  • Select All / Deactivate All controls and a load-out usage counter.
  • App icon, BeamMP “Open folder”, and this changelog.
v0.2 Jun 21, 2026
BeamMP, load-outs & detection
  • Full BeamMP support with a sidebar mode switch and green BeamMP theme cue.
  • Load-outs (profiles): save and apply named sets of active mods.
  • Duplicate + conflict detection across your active set.
  • Group-by-category view with sticky headers, plus a Launch button.
  • Premium licensing via offline-verified keys.
v0.1 Jun 21, 2026
First release
  • Library/vault model — only active mods are linked into the game folder.
  • Visual mod cards with auto-detected category, author, version and thumbnail.
  • Search, filter, tags, favorites, and one-click + bulk activation.
  • Import from the game folder or by drag & drop.
