Why does Windows warn me about the installer?
BMM is currently unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen shows an “unknown publisher” notice the first time. Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. Signing is planned as the project grows.

Activation uses hardlinks: instant, zero extra disk. The Space Saved counter only counts disk that was genuinely reclaimed — no inflated numbers.

Fresh out of the garage
- Updated the app’s core engine (Electron) and build tooling to the latest versions. This clears a batch of known security advisories in the old engine and picks up performance and stability improvements. Nothing about how the app works changes — your library, load-outs, settings, and Patreon connection all carry over untouched.
- Security hardening throughout: thumbnails are served with a much stricter path check, the app window now runs fully sandboxed, unexpected pop-ups and navigation are blocked, BMM only opens folders it manages, and the shipped app uses a tighter content-security policy.
- Deleting a mod whose .zip is locked (open in another program) no longer quietly loses track of it — BMM now tells you the file is in use and keeps the mod safely in your library, custom thumbnail and all.
- Space Saved stays honest in more corner cases: a cross-drive combine that has to write a copy back no longer counts as a saving, and neither does a delete that didn’t actually happen.
